  Independent Living

Research shows environmental factors at a patient’s home can provide valuable information for early indication of the progression of certain diseases. These early indicators are part of many of the Activities of Daily Living (ADL) for the patient that can be tracked using the home monitoring services. Our Patient Station (wireless tablet) can support the data capture and transmission of non-invasive sensors in the patient’s home environment. This allows care providers to make informed decisions based on the specific messages & alerts associated with individual care plans and allows patients to continue to live independently.

Key Features

  • Ability to support sensors for “smart mattress” to detect getting in/out of bed and associated sleep patterns

  • Support for sensors to detect body movement (activity) as well as position from a wearable wireless device

  • Ability to connect to a live operator for emergency response based on a voice prompt or a wearable “safety” button

  • Real time access to patient status by physician and family members

  • Ability to support sensor to detect opening/closing of pill dispensers for medication compliance

  • Support for sensors to detect opening/closing of doors

  • Ability to support sensors for detecting stove, air quality

  • Ability to support multi-media cognitive games

Benefits

  • Real time monitoring of environmental parameters and timely care provider’s intervention

  • Early identification of progression of specific conditions

  • Non-invasive means of capturing data without requiring much patient interaction

  • Better control of patient’s home environment to detect non-compliance
